Finding One’s Own Path to Authentic Healing Practices

This topic reminds me of the feeling of biting into a sweet, tender Anjou pear (red is my favorite)—that first juicy taste when winter starts settling in, and your body aches for some kidney TLC.

Many of us, myself included, first became interested in health through the wellness industrial complex. Others were blessed to grow up in households where folk traditions were woven seamlessly into daily life—passed down through generations like stories, prayers, and kitchen remedies.

Still, the commercialization and commodification of health reflect something much larger: the way capitalism has embedded itself into every corner of modern life. It’s like we’ve pressed “mute” on the natural rhythm of the Earth—the same rhythm we are meant to breathe, move, and heal with.

Our oldest civilizations, long before agriculture, were masterful observers of the natural world. They witnessed patterns and relationships that revealed a simple yet profound truth: every atom exists in divine union, in an intricate dance of connection. (Spoiler alert: this ability to observe still shines alive in us!) And yet, within that connection, each being carries its own unique expression.

Now, when we apply this to health and healing, we see how patriarchy created capitalism—and how that system now dictates the way wellness is marketed and sold. It’s an incredibly crafty system. It convinces us that something within us is missing, hollow, in need of filling. And so, suffering proliferates—war, violence, greed, scarcity. For generations, this imprint has been duplicated, passed down, normalized - even bred.

No wonder our Ancestors cry out for radical change. They remind us to shake off this conditioning, to let the Earth compost it for us.

But finding an authentic healing practice isn’t simple. The journey is messy, full of bumps, falls, mistakes, illusions, and hope. It’s meant to be. Because through these moments, we come to understand both the highs and lows of shaping our own evolutionary path—toward deeper consciousness, toward embodied being.

For me, authentic healing starts with the body. In a world that pulls us away from ourselves, learning to listen with the heart is a radical act. It means remembering that your body is Earth—every part of you shaped by this planet, intimately connected to all that exists, seen and unseen.

Now, breathe that in. Let it settle into Your bones.

We are walking Earth.
